The Auto Text tool is a new efficiency tool that enables the insertion of suggested claim elements and parts into a draft document derived from the your current document (Document Terms), prior documents / analytics exports (Archived Documents) and common expressions from the Lexis Parts Index (Parts Index).
Auto Text is enabled via a new button on the LNPO tool bar and functions through a pop-up dialog that is invoked as you key text into a document, much like searching in Google or Bing.
When you key a string of 4 characters recognized by Auto Text, the following tooltip will display:
Clicking on ENTER displays the related Auto Text pop-up menu:
You can select and insert any of the menu items just by clicking on them. This enables faster drafting and improved consistency/accuracy.
You can also type in the letters “FP” followed by a part number (e.g. “FP10”) to auto insert the part label associated with the part number.
Customizing Auto Text using Analytics
You can import parts, claim elements, terms and phrases directly from Analytics. This provides you with incredible flexibility and control of the language of your drafts. Via Analytics, you can load in data from all of your past grants, prior applications (published or local), client or prior art data, etc.
