Head of Information Intelligence at Evonik Industries AG, Germany

 
Dr. Monika Bruckmann is the Head of Information Intelligence at Evonik Industries AG, a world-leading specialty chemicals company.
 
She holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University Duisburg-Essen with focus on polymer chemistry. She started her career as product developer at the Celanese Corporation and got in contact with IP matters. Being inspired by patent information topics she joined Evonik as patent information specialist and developed herself to be an all-round specialist dealing with all matters related to information, either on IP or market topics. Monika is an active member in the PDG (Patent Documentation Group), a highly respected and dedicated industrial association committed to the advancement of Intellectual Property Information. She is chair of the WG PDV (Working Group Patent Database Vendors), a group acting as the partner for discussions on strategic developments with the major information providers.

Dietmar Pressner

Dietmar Pressner is a patent attorney with over 25 years of experience and qualifications before the EPO and the USPTO. His professional experience was gained at Henkel KGaA and Bayer AG in Germany and the US and 17 years with DSM NV in Switzerland and the Netherlands, ten of which with global responsibility for all IP matters. He also served as the Board Member of the Patent Documentation Group for eight years, two of which as its President. Dietmar now works as a consultant and coach.

Didier Patry

Didier Patry is a recognized IP expert with strong experience in the strategic management, optimization, valuation and monetization of intangible assets and IP rights. As former France Brevets’ CEO, Mr. Patry has managed several multimillion licensing programs, launched support initiatives for tech start-ups and SMEs, and provided strategic expert advisory services to the French government and several public organizations. In this role, Mr. Patry and his team have assisted the Office of the Prime Minister to build and execute a set of IP strategies in more than 20 high-priority technology sectors including 6G, cloud computing and cybersecurity. As lead IP adviser and coordinator, Mr. Patry works regularly with Members of Parliament and major industry organizations to advance IP and data-related matters in France and in Europe. 
Dr. Wassim W. Ayass
Dr. Wassim W. Ayass

Innovation and IP Lead, Mushlabs GmbH, Germany

After earning chemical engineering degrees from the American University of Beirut and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Dr. Wassim W. Ayass obtained his PhD in inorganic chemistry in Germany through research on an ExxonMobil catalysis project. This IP-driven project led him to join BASF for three years, where he primarily worked as an IP Intelligence Analyst. For nearly two years now, he has been with Mushlabs, a Hamburg-based foodtech startup, holding the role of Innovation and IP Lead, where he manages the company's intellectual property assets from the overall IP strategy to the intricate patent drafting. Fluent in Arabic, English, French, and German, he also recently completed a course in European and German patent law.

CEO & Founder of Cipher

Nigel Swycher is the CEO and founder of Cipher. Prior to Cipher, Nigel had a long career in the law and led the intellectual property practice at leading law firm Slaughter and May in London. Nigel is a regular speaker and commentator of the significant benefits of AI for the legal and IP profession.  Nigel has written several white papers on valuing patents as strategic assets. Nigel is also an advocate for openness and transparency and is a director of the Open Register of Patent Ownership (www.oropo.net), committed to building a global database of who owns the world’s patents. Nigel has been recognised by the IAM Strategy 300 for many years as a leader in the field.

Andreas Bong is a partner at KPMG Law. Since 2008 he has been advising legal and IP departments in their (digital) transformation to a faster, more efficient and even more risk-conscious setup and is your contact for organizational and process optimization as well as benchmarking. Before joining KPMG Law, he worked for 10 years at Otto Henning GmbH, the market leader for advice to international legal and IP departments, most recently as Managing Partner. He joined KPMG Law in 2018 following the takeover by KPMG Law.

Dr. Christopher Hauke

Head of Strategic IP and Innovation at SCHOTT Pharma, Germany

Dr. Christopher Hauke is the Head of Strategic IP and Innovation of SCHOTT Pharma, a German multinational glass company specializing in the manufacture of glass for the pharmaceutical industry.
 
He holds an PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Mainz with focus on molecular self-assembly, certified Competitive Intelligence Professional from the Academy of CI. Before his current role at SCHOTT, he worked four years in the IP Strategy Department of Fresenius Medical Care with a focus on IP-based business intelligence, competitor analysis and invention harvesting.

Before joining LexisNexis, Jonas worked as a Program Manager at Microsoft, as Senior Product Manager at Lab 1886 – The Incubator of Daimler AG, and as Marketing and Sales Coordinator at Gold1Networks. Jonas holds a bachelor of business administration from NHL Stenden and an master degree from Kingston University, London
 
Jonas loves to understand customer problems and solve them with new technologies. He has created, scaled and optimized digital products from 0 - 1000 users and drove success on multi-billion-dollar platforms. Leading cross functional teams has been one of the many great experiences he brought to LexisNexis Intellectual Property Solutions.

Sebastian leads the Cipher Certified team at LexisNexis Intellectual Property, where he supports customers in building classifiers tailored to address their needs. Sebastian has more than 8 years of expertise in multiple technology fields gained through intense consulting projects. His extensive knowledge and experience has contributed towards the development of the classifier builder and classifier engine that Cipher has today. Sebastian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a Masters degree in Infonomics, both from Maastricht University.

Tim Pohlmann

CEO & Founder of IPlytics, Germany

Tim Pohlmann is CEO & Founder of IPlytics. Tim is a graduate of the University of Marburg Business School and University of Kent Business School with a major in technology and innovation management. After his studies, he received his PhD as a research assistant at Professor Knut Blind’s Chair of Innovation Economics at the Technical University of Berlin. Since then he works as an employee of the Law and Economics Group of patents at CERNA, MINES ParisTech. Tim has been involved in several studies on patents, standards and ICT markets for the WIPO, the European Commission and the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi). His idea to start IPlytics came during his PhD.
